Wii is the greenest console out of the big three

Play a lot of video games, worried about the environment and using too much energy? Well if you have a Nintendo Wii then don’t worry so much. A recent study showed that the Nintendo Wii uses the less juice out of the big three gamer consoles. The Wii will cost you $3 a year in energy cost when turned off after use as opposed to $10 if you leave it on after playing. Not too bad. The Microsoft Xbox 360 will cost you $11 to use annually or $103 leaving it on all the time. The Sony PlayStation 3 will run you about $12 a year when turned off after use or a whopping $134 is left one. Most people turn their video game systems off when not in use so these numbers aren’t that bad, but if you have a habit of leaving your video games on or on standbye for extended periods of time expect to pay quite a lot for it.
