Blizzcon revealed Battlenet 2.0

Blizzard hasn’t really, had the need to change up the Battlenet servers in a while. The majority of online gaming as far as Blizzard is concerned has been on its WoW servers and the existing Battlenet is more than sufficient for Starcraft and Diablo. With Starcraft 2 however, Battlenet will need a major upgrade. Blizzcon saw some revelations about Battlenet 2.0. Check out the screens below!

Searching for games and joining games will all be much easier in the new Battlenet although we are not sure how much easier it can get than the first Battlenet…

You also have access to an in-game friend list as demonstrated in the screenshot below.

In fact, the friend list will even be integrated into WoW so you can see which friends are playing WoW and which are playing Starcraft. Imagine zerg swarming your opponent while planning out the details of your raid later!
We’re very excited about the way Battlenet is headed and we wouldn’t be surprised if there are more great features in stores for us. Maybe there would be some way you can watch your friend’s mini-map on Starcraft while you are sitting around Ogrimmar waiting for a raid?
