7 facts about Halo ODST

KokuGamer recently published an article pertaining to Halo 3: ODST. The game has been inching closer and closer to release and most of the major details are out already. Kokugamer chose to focus on some smaller details which people may not have seen the first time around. Here they are below;
Engineers: The engineers of the covenant forces often work behind the scenes so they were not really seen in any of the Halo FPS games. Their first appearance was in Halo Wars, the Halo RTS game and they are going to be featured in Halo: ODST. These creatures are not much for fighting and so the player often has the choice of either letting them go or killing them.
No Matchmaking for Firefight: Firefight mode is kind of like the Horde mode in Gears of War 2. It has proven to be very popular in Halo 3 and Gears as well. Still, the sad news is that there will be no matchmaking for firefight mode which means you will have to go out of your way to arrange for game sessions. According to an inside source at Bungie, including matchmaking for this feature would have tacked on an additional 6 months to the development time.
Gold Armored Hunters: With all the multiplayer mayhem, many Halo players have gotten so good that the in-game enemies just don’t phase them anymore. Bungie is trying to remedy that by adding even tougher enemies to Halo ODST. The gold armored hunters will be a lot tougher than normal hunters and considering the fact that the player is already playing the part of a less powerful ODST trooper (rather than the Masterchief), these foes could prove rather difficult even for an experienced player.
Announcer: The announcer who always spoke in the boisterous voice “Killing Spree” when someone is doing exceptionally well in Halo 3 multiplayer is set to return in Halo ODST. He will also be in Firefight although Bungie has lessened the amount of commentary he will actually provide
No Elites: The Elites were at the very least worth enemies in the first Halo game. In the second and third Halo games, the Elites were comrades in arms. Their departure from ODST is a sad one and many fans, myself included, were disappointed that they will not be making a return.
2 players per console: Unfortunately the number of players per console will be limited to two. This means if you want some 4 player mayhem in firefight mode, be ready to flag down another Xbox and another copy of the game if you want to play.
No Dual Wielding: ODST is going for more of a stealth approach and so not including dual wielding makes sense. After all, real life special operatives are not going to be gunning down enemies like Rambo.
That concluded the article on factoids about Halo 3: ODST. If you have any further information, feel free to share with the rest of us!
