New Trailer for The Wolf Man

I remember way earlier this year seeing previews for this Wolfman movie and then completely forgot about it for a long while because there has not been a mention or another preview since then. Well a new trailer is out and it had me going oh yeah I remember this, and it looks friggin cool.
The upcoming remake of The Wolf Man is starring Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt.
From what we see, the film seems to have an enthralling, “big world,” turn-of-century atmosphere similar to that of 2004’s Van Helsing, while not suffering from a nonsensical plot or extremely over-the-top digitical-effect-laden scenes.
The most critical aspect of any werewolf movie, is of course, the transformation. Thankfully, we get to see virtually ALL of it in this trailer. We witness the very bones of Benicio Del Toro grow and alter in shape while his skin mutates before our very eyes. We see a part where the bones of the fingers literally spin in odd, unnatural directions. This transformation really reinforces the idea that this is a CURSE, as the body is painfully manipulated, seemingly by an evil and intelligent force.
However I feel a little bit of a loss when comparing older wolf man movies like Werewolf in London – when you see the animatronics and make up from old VS the CGI of new, it doesn’t seem to capture that same loss and terror, or humanity. You don’t get as freaked out or scared because you totally recognize the CGI. It definitely does not kill the movie for me, I am positive I would still love it! but none the less it is a thought that will cross my mind when I see Benicio Del Toro change into the beast.
